Designer vs. crocheter

Cromo Cloud connects designers who create mosaic crochet patterns with crocheters who follow them. As a designer, you create patterns in CromoDesigner and publish them on Cromo Cloud. As a crocheter, you open patterns in CromoViewer (using an access code from the designer in case of paid patterns).

Designers#

... are the target audience for the CromoDesigner app. As a designer you may want to

  • draw something personal so that you can crochet it yourself
  • design a crochet pattern that you will share with others once you’ve made it, so that your design can inspire others and doesn’t remain a one-off project
  • make from your design skills a hobby or profession, maybe make a living from it - why not

CromoDesigner lets you create your designs from scratch, or starting from an existing image. You can use it as any other drawing application, but behind the scenes CromoDesigner constantly calculates all stitches of your pattern, and makes sure your drawing doesn't result in stitch combinations which are not allowed in mosaic crochet. Once finalized you can publish the pattern on the Cromo Cloud website, so that you or your customers can load it into CromoViewer. You can also generate the according written pattern or chart to share or sell your pattern on other platforms.

Crocheters#

... are the target audience for the CromoViewer app. Once you have found a pattern on Cromo Cloud which you would like to crochet, CromoViewer lets you

  • choose your favorite design and background color, so that the pattern preview matches what you're actually crocheting
  • easily progress through the pattern without any paper instructions, just guided by the "what's next" instructions on screen
  • optionally use a foot pedal to easily step through the instructions stitch by stitch
  • store when you start a new skein. That way the app can give you an estimate of how many skeins you'll need to finish the pattern, and how long it will take approximately

CromoViewer gives you a clear overview of how far you've got with your crochet work: the finished part is shown in full color, while the unfinished part is displayed as a grid-like chart with the stitch symbols of the pattern.
