Adding text

The Text option lets you add a word or phrase to your pattern simply by typing on the canvas.

Choosing a font

The Select font button opens a dialog where you can choose between over 400 different fonts. These are all freely available fonts, downloaded from dafont.com and converted into stitch patterns.

In the dropdown box, each font name is preceded by a number indicating how many stitch rows its characters occupy. The larger the font, the more accurately the text can be displayed.

Previewing and slanting

The font selection dialog also lets you enter the phrase you want to use, so you can preview it while scrolling through the different fonts.

You can choose whether or not to use slanted stitches. Some fonts need slanted stitches to display accurately, while others look sharper with slanting disabled.

Once you've picked the font you want, type your phrase directly on the design canvas.
